Good luck with Lafleur. Reminds me of our current QB coach who no one talks about just like Lafleur when he was here. Look, coaches just like players develop and grow within systems they have been part of. Some flourish some don't. Their not all stars or next HC because they have been here or there. Maybe Lafleur flourished elsewhere. Who knows. Who cares. The skins are stuck with a HC most think very little of but yet, we let go of talented coaches to keep him. Just how things are done in DC. Thanks Bruce!

Yep & ultimately any coach is only as good as the talent on the field. Certainly Gruden can do better in certain respects & some of the former assts are better in certain ways than him. However they are all blessed w/ talent on the teams that they currently coach.

McVay has tons of talent on both sides of the ball. Yes he did develop Goff, but this guy was the # 1 overall pick & certainly it doesn't hurt to have Gurley & an insane amt of talent on defense & elsewhere. Shanahan had tons of talent when he was w/ the Falcons. Perhaps not as much now on the 49ers, but he does have a high level QB & some hope although they are not doing that great at this time. Lafleur obviously will have the benefit of having one of the top QBs in the game so that is promising.

The Redskins need to really focus on obtaining more talent on the offensive side of the ball. Their WR corps is awful & needs tons of help. TE is problematic due to age & injury concerns. OL is a question mark since while there is a fair amt of talent injuries will always be a concern. RB should be alright, but there are still question marks moving fwd. Obviously QB is a major question mark & I just wish that this team would look past next season to eventually make this area solid (forget about the Cousins move -that is history - & also honestly start looking past Smith & McCoy since they are stopgaps at best). Start focusing on the future QB of this team - whether that move happens this offseason or next offseason & go young if possible.

IMO personnel moves are way more important than coaching in the NFL & this team needs to improve in this area. Will they? Very problematic given their history - one can only hope. HTTR

Or a graveyard for head coaches. Once they are the HC here, they are never seen again.

Gruden is fine and it would have been pretty indefensible to fire him and promote McVay at the time.

Sure it wouldve been nice to keep McVay in house but theres no point losing sleep over something that wasnt reasonable at the time.

Agree that at the time it would have been hard to fire Jay and promote McVay. As much as I like him he went to a team with a lot of good players. Fisher got the players but was not a good coach.
