BTW, how are you liking Andrew Luck 43? I'm a fan of his, got to see him play at Stanford once. I love Stanford's campus. I used to go to youth baseball camp there many moons ago, beautiful place. So I kind of have a soft spot for Luck due to where he went to school and because he seems like a down to Earth kid who respects his teammates (from his interviews during his College days).

I have to say, I am very impressed. I think he's handled himself very well with impossibly big shoes to fill. Last time a "Can't miss" QB had to fill shoes like that was when the incomparable Bert Jones was the "next" Johnny Unitas. And that did not work out at all. Bert Jones was one of the worst quarterbacks I ever saw. So I was worried.

Most importantly to me, he's not flashy or in your face. He seems to have the team believing in him and he's not out in front of the media every day proclaiming how great he is. He just melded into the team and I like that. Watching Thursday's game, I really had to keep reminding myself he's a rookie. Such poise. He's only gonna get better. And he has a solid receiver corps around him too.

They get a reliable secondary, and life will be good.

There is a local fat headed sports talk radio hack who I occasionally tune into because he provides me with some laughs. I know you all think you know the stereotype of the idiot local talk show host, who berates and hangs up on callers, is a massive homer, doesn't really know jack about anything except the local football team, and hocks Miller Lite and discount tarps and gloves... but I swear to you this guy is the king.

I tuned in and out of his show while I was on the road from about three o'clock when he came on, to about five thirty when I got home, and the guy did NOTHING but whine about how Cabrera gets NO respect, how it's complete and utter bullshit that the sportswriters get to vote on this, that if ANYONE ELSE had won the triple crown there would be no debate, blah blah blah, nobody respects Detroit, blah blah blah, it's because Cabrera is a brown foreigner, blah blah blah, it's because of this... fuck, the award hadn't even been announced yet and this guy had a whole three hour show planned on how it was bullshit that he lost.

So yeah, I don't know where I was going with that, but fuck that fat headed tool.

Just an update, he's now claiming that all the media arguing Trout should have won is due to the notorious West Coast Bias that plagues sports media coverage these days.
