Last year when Georgia was trailing the heavily favored Auburn Tigers in the first half, there was a no call on a blatantly obvious PI against Georgia WR Terry Godwin that would have been a TD if he weren't interfered with, and would have at least extended the drive if the call were made.

But Georgia nutted up and still found a way to pull off the upset.

I guess the moral of the story is put on your big boy britches and don't blame the refs for losing a game you were outmatched in.

It's not like you had two TDs and a redzone possession taken away by ridiculous offensive pass interference calls that weren't even close to offensive pass interference

Both teams had defenses that were taking over the game, Florida State doesn't make those two terrible special teams gaffes and they might have won that game

Excuses are for those who lose poorly. Only excuse we really have for not going undefeated last year was that we got owned by the best player in CFB and had no answer, End of. Don't pretend you would have won if you would have gotten a PI call in the first half. Makes you sound like a pussy.

How about the 3 bad/missed calls that even allowed for that play to even happen?

The first was because of a bogus holding call that negated a huge catch. Dude got pancaked, pulled the defender down with him and got a holding call out of it.

Then like 1 or 2 plays later, on 3rd and long, there was a clear facemask on Jalen, but it wasn't called. Had it been called, it also would have been a 1st down for Alabama and FSU wouldn't have gotten the ball.

Then you had the questionable at best PI call on that drive that gave FSU a first down and lead to the play in question.

And on that play, he was a little early with contact - but that was because the ball was a little underthrown and the defender slowed down/stopped. I wouldn't have complained if it was called, but it was the reciever who caused the contact.

Man this thread is late. I was depressed Sunday Monday too and that call was bullshit, but it was a dam good game.

BAMA played their game and we made mistakes. FSU defense was unreal keeping us in it.

Week 1 is over time to move on. Hopefully Jimbo doesn't get another QB hurt and uses those 5 star RBs he recruited.

Amen. I can't remember a time Alabama has gotten so few points with all the times we had the ball inside the 20. FSU's defense is absolutely Elite.

BAMA special teams coach needs a big raise. Saban gets a lot of credit and deserves it, but how many big games has the special teams come up huge? Drake in the natty 2 years ago. So many times they do this. Force turnovers, etc.

Both teams D looked great , FSU special teams was awful while Bamas was great, both offenses were bleh but Bamas was slightly less bleh mostly because of Ridley

that call was bullshit

It's because the QB underthrew the ball. If that ball is about 2 feet higher/further thrown, it's probably a TD and if there was still contact like that, it would have be pass interference.

It's borderline, I wouldn't have complained if it was called. But that's the reason why it wasn't IMO. Again, higher up and it gets called if not a TD. But the ball was underthrown, your guy had to slow down for it and contact happened as a result, so no call.
