Yep! I’m torn here. I worry about the swelling after the game and then having to get on a plane for the short turn around on Friday. There are benefits and trade offs to both the decision to play him tonight or rest him. I feel like he should be restricted to about 22-25 minutes. I say that now, but if that game is tight with 5-6 minutes to go and hes already at that limit, just being honest, I’m going to want him in the game.

Yeah, tough call.

On the one hand, if he aggravates it to the point that he's out for the series...you're fucked.

On the other hand, if you win tonight, you may not have to come back to Boston.

Since they got the first game, I would not risk him.

Rest him until Friday.

Don’t want him to play today, just to miss the next 2.

Yeah, if I had a say, I'd likely sit him too.

But I understand why they would play him.

Trainers/med staff must figure that he's unlikely to make it worse.

If so, then it would just be about pain tolerance.

Gun to my head, I wouldn’t either. At the same time, I don’t have his medical reports or his workouts in front of me. The thing I like is that they’re not embracing a “our work is done in Boston because we stole Game 1” kind of mindset. As I stated, I worry about the inevitable swelling and then that being exacerbated on a flight later tonight with a must win Game 3 on Friday.

If it’s a partial tear there’s no assurance at any point that he can’t injure it further. This is the hand that’s been dealt. Every trip down the floor brings great risk to him injuring it further. A brace can mitigate some of that but no assurances here.

So... basically a must-win tonight.

A big flaw for Boston thus far in the playoffs has been their overall team defense. For a squad with as many quality defensive parts as the Celtics have individually... this is unacceptable.

They've got to step it up. This is an effort and desire thing, IMO. Philly cleared played harder in G1, and they righteously earned the win.

Time to do a sac check and just F'n work harder on the court.

I expect to see a completely different team tonight. No way they have a repeat of game one on the defensive end.

The best play is to say you're playing all day and then not play to keep the Celtics coaches off.

I think he has to play if he's even reasonably healthy.

-->The refs will let the Celtics kick at his knee anyway.<-- And as discussed above, Doc will let them kick at it too. He's not long for the series. Hope I'm wrong.

Looks like Embiid's playing tonight.

Gonna keep track of how many times the Celtics are allowed to "kick at his knee".

Over/under 5.5 times the refs let that happen?

Only a clown like you would ask this even though you know it's dependent on how the game goes and how many opportunities he let's them have.

Does it hurt to be that stupid?

Because it should.

Sounds like Marcus Smart is doubtful so Vegas dropped that number.
