I find it funny that a region of the USA that is against socialism roots for the entire conference and they don't even realize the irony.
The vast majority don't even understand irony. They probably think it has something to do with shirts.

negative ghost rider. Some of us just don't care. The conference pride thing is relatively new. I don't ever remember anyone chanting their conference name at a game or defending other teams in their conference when I was growing up (70's-80's). It begins and ends with the sec.

I don't remember it in the 90's either. Conference homerism is for losers.

I couldn't care less about "PAC 12 greatness". I care about USC greatness, period.

When I watch any game, I inevitably pick a team to pull for. If it's a PAC 12 team playing an OOC opponent, I'm just as likely to pull for the OOC team as the PAC team. If it's a game between 2 PAC teams, then I pull for the one whose win is most likely to help USC.

The exception is UCLA, I never pull for them.

It's a delicate balance. You need your conference to be strong so if your team does rule it it looks better but you're also competing for players against these schools. I want the rest of the B1G schools to suck as far as recruiting goes but not to the point that it looks like a weak schedule every season.

I watch and enjoy Big Ten football. I root for Michigan. If I'm going to be ashamed of anything it will be how Michigan has played in all but one year of the last 7 or so.

No offense sport, but if you live in Oklahoma, you'd be well advised to keep your disparaging opinions about other parts of the country to yourself. Oklahoma...a place so shitty we gave it away for 70 years and when we took it back, we gave land to settlers for FREE.

Yea, I want South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn to win in their rivalry games, but not because I love all teams SEC. I want them to win because that makes MY TEAM's schedule look even tougher. But that goes with every OOC team we play also. I want Clemson to win every game they can (besides against us), because that makes our schedule tougher.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I cheer for Team SEC because it infuriates the fuck out of some people on here and that my friends is just pure free entertainment for me.

However, under no circumstances will I hope for a Bama or Ole Miss victory. I'm a big fan of Boise State and WVU next week....
