Curiuos as to peeps' thoughts on this "black Friday" stuff the NFL is starting this year. I mean I'll take more football almost anytime, long as kickoff isn't 730AM. But just seems like such an obvious money grab. At some point, the billions and billions have to allow you to make a few decisions that are best for the players/teams and not just the bottom line.
Congrats, now you'll make 12.1 billion instead of 12.05 billion,. Sure I'm glad you won't starve to death
I'm a Dolphins fan and I didn't watch the game. Already took up all of Thursday and was going to watch all day Sunday, so Friday I had to spend time with the wife and kids so we went to Sea World. It was fine though, I couldn't bear to watch the Jets again on TV anyway. The NFL needs to have some kind of injury clause with these teams that if the main attraction gets injured they can flex their damn games out of prime time. If I have to watch one more Jets, Giants, or Raiders prime time game I'm going to throw up.

Any Raiders game would've been better than Bears v Vikings that we were just subjected to

Hard to convince anyone in Chicago LeBron is better than Jordan.
Heard a surprising unofficial stat. LeBron has played in Chicago 22 times and lost 20 of them.

Being a UVA fan and remembering when MJ was at UNC, I don't like Jordan. My boss is young and trys to tell me that nobody from the 80s could play today. How LeBron is the GOAT.

Now I have to defend Jordan

Yer boss is a tool. Kevin McHale would be the best player in the NBA today... and he was just another guy

McHale was never just another guy. I don't know what he was, but with those distorted arms he had not another guy.

Well he was a Lurch, a Herman Munster.. whatever. But people only know his name, he's only in the HOF, becuase he was a Celtic during the Celtic v Laker era.

But far too low hanging of fruit to say Bird, Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Jordan, Barkley, Ewing, Hakeem, Wilkins, Isiah, Malone, Stockton, Malone (Karl or Moses), Dr J, etc.. would be the best player today, anyone with at least one eye and two brain cells knows THOSE guys would be the best today, so I went with McHale, not in the same league as those dudes, but still a name most everyone would recognize.

And when you put all those names up there, all in the same era, more or less, with McHale? He's just another guy compared to them.

Btw..I hate the NBA even more than hockey...THATS how great those guys were.. they transcended the sport

Players from the 80s would quit once they found out today's training regiment and locker room rules. Sure the game was rougher on the court but only a handful of those guys have the skill of today's players. The development of athletes hasn't gone backwards in the last 30-40yrs, they're getting better at every sport.

Don’t know if there’s more to that stat, or what. But LBJ has six wins in Chicago in the playoffs alone. 6-3 @United, 4-0 in playoff series against the Bulls.

I’m not in Chicago, but goodluck to anyone that tries to convince me either. lol

LBJ was 3-3 in Chicago by his third season.

I’m officially protesting that stat, before LeBron ever made the playoffs.

It is possible I may have misheard the stat... it could have been a specific time frame? Or sometimes the radio guys are talking off the top of their heads.

I'd gladly give that there are better athletes in the NBA today, no doubt about it. Beyond that though... certainly not more skill, and not even a smidgen of the heart and soul, the game has changed to where that's not necessary any longer. I'm not even sure today's average NBA player even wants to be on the court other than to collect a paycheck

Was it AM 1000?

I listen to laugh at that staff. They’re awful.
 It was!!!
I like the afternoon guys including Waddle.
But there are guest hosts this week since some of the regulars are off. Think it came from one of them.
Plus I am distracted by work during all of this so I'm not as tuned in to everything they're saying at times.

Earlier this week the male/female duo that was covering went on a rant about how only one Bears receiver had 1000 yards in X number of years.

And immediately I was like “uh Darnell Mooney two years ago…”

And they kept ranting. These were Bears radio people mind you.

Took about three callers before somebody called them out on not knowing their own subject matter.

Management needs to be fired at that station. Or the Bears need to take away broadcasts. They’re awful.

Skill is at an all time high.

Toughness is not.
