Medical question, T.Spears knee without ligaments doesn't have anything to tear, so it is similar to MJD bone on bone thing and more about pain mgmt if it gets hurt vs repair/recovery?

Felt like towards the end of MJDs career he was missing games because of his knee but once it felt good he played like it was never hurt but that might just be in my head vs actually have happened

Certainly no expert and only passing along things I've read about it-but-
what I've read is that yes, he has no ACL, and that his muscles have developed around the knee to the point that they provide nearly the stability that the ligament normally would. IT's not common, but there are a bunch of people out there that have the same condition and it is a thing.
But he ALSO, has 'loss of cartilage thickness' which I take to be the same, or nearly the same as what MJD dealt with for a decade or so. Supposedly, MJD had NO cartilage, evidently Spears still has some..maybe? hard to say given that there's conflicting reports and that anytime he's asked about it, he just says, I'm healthy, good to go.

But the no ACL makes the knee more susceptible to further cartilage damage, meniscus tears, other ligament tears, in addition to also having arthritis. So in my mind, it's only a matter of time that everything eventually catches up to him but, I guess he's perfectly fine without an ACL, and it'll essentially come down to pain management, assuming he has no other issues, like an MCL, meniscus, or PCL tear to compound everything.

Definitely place him in the 'ticking time bomb' category, but the kid is fun to watch while it lasts.
