Surprised you went 2 goalies early. Last year I got back into fantasy hockey and was advised to hit forwards early and often. It worked out well for me finishing in 4th.

I have a auction draft coming up on Tuesday night 14 teams keep 12. We have $250 to spend. The cap doesn't carry over so we are free and clear. As we will snake draft for all future seasons. Do you load up on as many studs as you can with no future salary cap ramifications? I was reading some mathematical draft strategies on how you can break up tiers of players. I suppose that would keep you on track not over spending. I always have a bad habit of passing on studs because of bids I feel are overpriced.

I've never done an auction in hockey.

At least you got Cory like you wanted. Are the other owners targeting the goalies first? Or are forwards being plucked?

I'm impressed. 4 hockey names and no figure-skating comments. And for a guy whose phone can auto-butcher the English language, I'm equally impressed you spelled Gretzky correct and came pretty darn close on Lemieux.

So yes, 17 goalies gone.

Connor McDavid went 34th overall.

I'm looking at going D now. 10 have been taken. I'm up in three picks and I'll take the leftover of (in order), John Carlson, Duncan Keith and Mark Giordano.

If one of them is still there in the 5th, I'm all over it. If not, hoping for Nathan MacKinnon, whom I'm expecting to bounce back.

Now you're getting me all hyped up....
I like Mike Green this year. I've always had the opinion that Ovechkin was essentially the Capitals' offense. (Not much depth really until Backstrom.)
But now with Green on the Dead Things, he may be poised for even more points IMO.

With 2 years left on his current deal Derek Rose is already talking about free agency so as to make sure his family is financially secure.

These "financially secure" comments should be banned from player conversations.

Look, I get it... that if some shlub of professional athlete is getting paid millions and a better athlete comes along, I understand the better athlete should get paid more.

But PLEASE don't tell the fan-base, who collectively may not make the entire value of your current contract, that you & yours need to be financially secure!

Exactly... Too bad my 200 million Nike deal fell through. :exploding:

Nice looking team TKO. Love the Leddy, Toffoli and Perron picks. And you "nailed" the Yakupov pick! :stooges:

Round 15-19

Seth Jones (I know Weber and Josi are the top two, but hoping Jones progresses... a good 5th)
Matt Moulson (hopefully Eichel's line mate)
Antoine Vermette (number one center on a bad team... good enough for a 5th)
Colin Wilson
Vincent Trocheck (hopefully a big uptick in PT)

One more round to finish up the starters, then 7 bench... sleeper time.

20 - Charlie Coyle
21 - Milan Michalek
22 - Tommy Wingers
23 - Eric Elias
24 - I'm on deck... and staring down Andrew Shaw! I shouldn't have let him slide, and don't know why he's still available. Playing with Toews, no?

25, 26, 27 will finish it off. I'm looking at Rob Scuderi, Marcus Kruger, Cody Hodgson, Lars Eller, Josh Jooris and Peter Weircoch. :hope:

According to one source, yeah, Shaw will play on the first line with Toews & Hossa. But Shaw probably won't play on the PP. (But he will play on the PK.)

Don't take Bickell. He still has vertigo so the Hawks put him on waivers. They're hoping he clears waivers so they can send him to Rockford.

I hope your 22nd pick is Tommy Wingels and not Wingers. Never heard of Wingers, although that would be the perfect name for a hockey player.

Lol... yeah that's Wingels and Eric Gelinas. Phones are incredible.

Don't worry. Bickell is in my dog house too. Fell for him two years in a row. Never again!

(got Shaw!)

If things are getting thin and he's still available, you may want to take a chance on Teuvo Teravainen. He really made a mark in the playoffs and should be a solid fixture on the second line (meaning that he won't get sent back to Rockford (or Finland)).

You did get some nice 1st-line D late too.

He's gone. Was eying him in the 16th or so, but waited too long. He's not playing Center on the 3rd line?

It depends on which web site you use... Tevo could be a 2nd line or 3rd liner. With Saad and Sharp gone, I just expect to see him on the ice more. And coach Q is always juggling lines to match up with the opponent (or to get the best mis-match), so nothing is etched in stone with Q.

@HaroldSeattle Watching MNF I noticed that the Seattle fans stood throughout the whole game. Don't recall ever seeing a shot of the stadium where there were NOT standing. Is it like that at every game?

Starting out with Toews and Hossa. Wish I fought harder for him now.

Blackhawks looked dominant last night. King Henry was the difference. If they play like that I'll be happy even if they don't win. (Might have been the only person not watching the Cubs.)
