Sorry, not a fan of either. I loved Heinlein when I was a kid and my sisters kept pushing me to read The Hobbit. I hated it.

Not a fan of talking trees or whatever they were. Now, midgets can be funny in the right setting.

And the only fairies I am concerned with are the Regression Fairies. They can be a bitch. ;)
OK, I can see how someone may not like the hobbit. Try the Healer by FPaul Wilson and get back to me.

Im a big fan of the Legend of Drizzt series by R. A. Salvatore.

Its roughly 16 books deep but they are quick reads. If you are into fantasy at all I recommend them.

thanks for the book recommendations.
About every 3-5yrs, I go book crazy and read a whole series, typically fantasy related.
I'm big on details, so I have liked pretty much every one I've read.
Started with Harry Potter, did The Hobbit and LotR series, Game of Thrones most recently.
Speckled in some Dan Brown stuff and other odds and ends, but between fantasy football and my other hobbies, I just don't consistently read books every year.

Will check out The Healer first, then look into that Drizzt series.

As far as the HBO version of Game of Thrones goes, I have the first four seasons but am a little slow outta the gate watching...watched the very first two episodes recently. No flies on me.

And I knew the kid wasn't dead! ;)

The books were way better than the show.
Loved the books, the show is entertaining, but I don't like some of the story lines that were cut/changed.
Also, I hated that the most recent season went out of chronological order and stopped following the books.
They even introduced characters from the 6th book, which its release has been delayed for multiple years since the TV show started.

Just wanted to say THANKS for directing me to the animated gif's. I'm getting a lot of mileage out them when I use them on the message boards of my other leagues.

Just chilling at home watching the Price is Right...

Drew Carey asks a contestant if he wants to say hello to anyone... after rambling off a few relatives, he finishes with "and Bruce Springsteen if he's watching!"

Y'know what's a cool commercial? The beer one (I think it's Miller Lite) where the karaoke dude starts singin' "Carry on my Wayward Son". :thumb:

In the day we sit around on the couch in an unemployed American dream
Watching people guess at the price and jump around scream
Sprung from seats in rows two through nine,
Chrome glasses, striped pantsuits, and "coming on down" to the line.
Baby this thing makes you stupid and slow
It's a game show, just a schadenfreude glow,
We oughtta get up - maybe in a bit
Cuz tramps like us,
Baby we were born to sit.
Yeah, born to sit.

Per NFL.com, the Giants cut FB John Connor. What will happen to Skynet? And Kyle Reese?
