When the Washington Commanders play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, December 15, 2024, here's what you can expect:

Game Details

Date: Sunday, December 15, 2024

Time: 1:00 PM ET

Venue: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana

Broadcast: FOX

Team Performance

Washington Commanders: The Commanders are currently 8-5 and coming off a bye week. They are looking to secure a Wild Card spot in the playoffs. Their offense is led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been impressive with 2,819 passing yards and 15 touchdowns.

New Orleans Saints: The Saints are 5-8 and have had a rollercoaster season. They recently won a narrow game against the New York Giants and are hoping to build on that momentum. However, they will be without quarterback Derek Carr, who is out for the season with a fractured hand.

Key Players to Watch

Commanders: Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Brian Robinson Jr.

Saints: Alvin Kamara, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Taysom Hill (if he plays).

Key Factors

Turnovers: Both teams will need to protect the ball and capitalize on any turnovers.

Special Teams: Field position and special teams play will be crucial.

Defensive Matchup: The Commanders' defense, likely featuring the debut of former Saints cornerback Marshon Latimore, will need to contain the Saints' offense that features Alvin Kamara and Marquez Valdes-Scantling , while the Saints' 30th ranked defense will need to step up and slow down Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Brian Robinson Jr. and the Commanders' offense.

Final Thoughts

The Commanders are the favorites in this matchup, but the Saints have shown resilience and could make it a competitive game. The Commanders will look to secure a win and improve their playoff positioning, while the Saints will aim to play spoiler and end their losing streak. Enjoy the Game Everyone!

No disrespect to Haener, but with the lack of experience, i don't expect much from the passing game. 2 Kamara TDs and 2 FG is all i can see, max. I'll be shocked if we get less than 35 points

Please stack the box and focus on stopping the run, with Lattimore this is more of an option. Make this QB have to make plays and let's see if he can keep up with Jayden Daniels.
Yup. And don’t allow these receivers to get off the line uncontested. This QB will be looking to get rid of the ball quickly. We have seen too many times in the past where we give the receivers a cushion, the catch a 5 yard pass, break a tackle and the next thing you know, it’s a 25 yard reception. Shut this young, inexperienced ,qb down early.

If your prediction on Haener comes to fruition, then Kamara should not have over 50 yards and a score since we know 41 is getting the Lions share of work.

2 things to worry about here , one will we come out flat ? 2 can we execute on offense and defense?

We should win this game if we are a playoff team. The only thing that stops us is if the team reads its press clippings and lays an egg like they did vs Dallas

I guess this means Kicker Gonzalez and Mathis are out for Sunday. Or maybe Payne is going to be out. hogshaven said there could be two active kickers. interesting.
