I just like the quality of the trade down last year. Brought us an abundance of talent.i heard rumors that Dallas wanted Forbes. Plus they said RR and Co wanted to give up a 4th to trade up for Forbes

I was for the trade but wasnt thrilled with the picks that were made at the time . I thought we could have gotten guys later , I was certainly wrong about Dotson , I thought Mathis was overdrafted ( jury still out ). I thought BRob was a 4th round guy ( I was wrong about that ) . I liked SH and Turner picks . Paul and Holmes were good fliers as far as I was concernedI just like the quality of the trade down last year. Brought us an abundance of talent.
They have drafted other good lineman like Jansen, Moses, Roullier ....Washington has drafted 3 offensive linemen in the first round since 2000. Two of them have been First team All-pro’s (Williams/Scherff) and the other was a 6-time probowler (Samuels).
he may have been good, but he was,nt mike nelms good.he was the best ever punt returner the skins had

Grant and Danny wouldn't say who but said RR wanted to go to Howell earlier in the year but got talked out of it.I couldn't help but share, coach having a discussion with his wife on the QB play from the season finale....
The 2022 fifth-round pick out of North Carolina made his NFL debut in Week 18, the then-7-8-1 Commanders' regular season finale against the playoff-bound Dallas Cowboys. Howell helped lead Washington to a 26-6 victory over their NFC East rival, completing 11 of his 19 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown (a 16-yarder to Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin), and an interception. Rivera toggled back and forth between veterans Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke last season, but he revealed on his drive home from the stadium that Sunday, he had an epiphany with his wife: Howell should have been the starting quarterback sooner.
"You can ask Stephanie, all we f---ing talked about was the quarterback, what the quarterback did, who he was," Rivera said Monday, via Sports Illustrated. "I kept saying, 'F---, if I would have known this, I would have played him sooner.' When you only have so much time to show it, it's hard, I kept thinking, 'God' … but after that game, everything told me this kid, give him the opportunity and see what he does with it."
Howell provided confirmation to his head that he could be "the guy" at quarterback after the then-rookie immediately came up to the coaching staff to explain his second quarter interception on the Cowboys five that killed a drive that seemed destined to end with a touchdown.
The GM, HC and leader of his football team didn't know what he had in Howell in 2022. Admits he likely should have been the guy all year. Hmmmmm....
That "guy" who talked him out of it is likely gone.Grant and Danny wouldn't say who but said RR wanted to go to Howell earlier in the year but got talked out of it.
