We don't know for sure about EB yet and I don't believe this will happen if RR is replaced but I wouldn't mind keeping JDR or EB if things go like we hope they do. If the offense does well is there a chance EB becomes HC?

RR is going into the season with a new owner on board . of course his job is on the line and hence he should be on the hot seat . i cant see how anyone would think otherwise

I think he is on the hot seat. Im just saying if he wins a playoff game i think he stays. skins2winz believes RR is not on the hot seat at all which is interesting.

And I am saying it makes no sense to keep Rivera if he wins one random playoff game. He is not what the organization needs. You even claimed that he could have his GM title removed and remain the coach. That literally makes no sense. Why would he demote himself?

Stop being a Rivera apologist. Stop dragging skins2winz in everything. He can speak for himself.

lol. these guys want RR fired if we win a playoff game. Alot of messages about this. I thought I was the only one who thought he is safe if he wins.
He really has been a mere place holder since he got here. The talent is there, the wins have not been. He gets this year to prove himself, just like Chase.

I basically said RR is a lame duck coach. New ownership should bring change. We have done virtually nothing during RR's tenure. The "other" cronies he brought in to include Mayhew, Wright, Hurney should all go as well. New owner, new leadership would be my choice. It is unfortunate of the sale timing because they change should have already happened. Now next off season, more changes to an already endless fluctuating franchise that could use a new name/brand.

maybe i misunderstood post #2696. you didn't think RR should be on the hot seat list.

How is Washington’s offensive line for 2023 viewed around the league? According to Pro Football Focus, the Commanders’ offensive line ranks No. 27, about five weeks away from training camp.

Yikes

I disagree with most posters here when I say that I believe the offense will rise or fall based on the OLine. The OLine will open the running lanes and protect Howell. A rookie QB will need a talented OLine to guide and protect him in the pocket. Especially when things breakdown, Howell will need the Oline to step up.
With a talented OLine, I think Howell will do well. With a mediocre to poor OLine, Howell will flounder.
If I was Rivera, I would have thrown earlier draft picks and more money at the OLine. That is just me.
What I will say is that every single successful offense built in the NFL has a superior OLine. Elite OLines can mask average play from RBs, Wrs, and some QBs. Only a HOF type QB can compensate for poor OLine play. Just my opinion.
I would hope our next GM addresses the OLine and doesn't stick with late round picks and journeymen to man the most important unit on the field. Did we do enough this off season to shore up the OLine and give Howell the appropriate help he needs? I don't think so. Rivera is more inclined to build an elite defense first and foremost. It's a distraction for him that he has not overcome.

Before declaring all is lost I am willing to see what EB can do with the offense to help the OLine which I too believe is not in the upper half of lines in the NFL. There are things a coach can do via scheme. We should not forget Howell moves around pretty well. Right now it looks 4 new/different guys will start on the OLine.

Do we know much about the new Oline coach? He could have a positive impact as well.
I want to see how EB approaches playcalling and game planning for opponents. Reid was obviously the Xs and Os guy while it appears that EB was the motivater and understudy.
