1 takeaway from each Commanders position group after the offseason program
One takeaway or something we learned from each position group after the offseason program.commanderswire.usatoday.com
the big thing here is EB lit a fire under brown . that could be huge seeing that samuel is in his last yr of his contract
Are the Commanders going to have an 'open, honest' quarterback competition?
Does Sam Howell already have the job, or does Jacoby Brissett still have a chance to start Week 1?commanderswire.usatoday.com
If all the other NFC East teams are better than us at this point, yet, we took a different approach, what does that say about Rivera? One would think we would attempt to mirror the success and strategy of the eagles, not try to reinvent the wheel.
Many have commented on how the roster is stronger now. Not all by his doing but he had a hand in it.If all the other NFC East teams are better than us at this point, yet, we took a different approach, what does that say about Rivera? I cant wait till he is shown the door. He literally had no idea what he is doing in the front office.
I would argue for position flex, it is something that RR invented. Situational substitution has been around for a long time.In a nutshell, I don't like Ron's obsession with "position flex". Yes, it's important to have among the depth pieces because it keeps you from having to overinvest in backups and keep better players on the field. But we have too many "jack-of-all-trades" instead of "masters- of-one". None of the linemen are among the best at their position. We're lucky if they're just "very good" at the position they play most. It's just not likely that you'll get dominate play from guys who are an injury away from moving from starting guard to fill-in Tackle and from starting center to fill-in Guard. We may do better to keep protected specialists on the Practice Squad. I understand that injuries are not only unpredictable, but probable through a 17 game season. Nevertheless, we haven't committed to immediate high impact players at any specific position along the line through the draft or necessarily Free Agency. There's no clear anchor to the line that's also a long-term answer...at least not yet. It's a unit that's too important to be addressed so casually.
Draft is before camp.
if this is true then why did we draft 2 dbs ? And blew off o/lineman early ?
I think EB is good with what we have. I think he thinks he can make it work. Time will tell.
