Rumo(u)rs are that he's narrowed the GM search down to a few candidates (including Michael Futa - a scout currently with the LA Kings and Jim Benning - assistant GM of the Bruins). These teams though want to hang onto these guys until after the 2014 entry draft is complete (i.e. protect their knowledge/strategy). Hence, Burkie will be at the wheel until after the draft.

Burke CAN make some decent moves to help a rebuild, he did do it for the Canucks (Sedin Draft) they are few are far between but he can swing trades. That being said his drafting is shite
