Because otherwise like Matty said they'd probably be down in the dumps. They do not generally draft and develop well, they have multiple bad contracts on the books and Seguin burned out way earlier (mostly via injury but...) than expected.

Replacement-level goaltending and they're probably the team that got massively outplayed by Calgary in 2022 long-term. Instead Nill probably wins a GM of the Year at some point lol

Yeah, it seems to be quite the omission by the Flames in all honesty. Even the "Forever a Flame" program which recognizes great contributions to the team only has Al MacInnis and Joe Nieuwendyk as its members.

Growing up it was whoever the NHL affiliate of the Clippers/Skipjacks or Hershey Bears was. Sometimes Flyers, Sometimes Caps, Sometimes, for some damn reason, the North Stars. Had a friend who lived in Ottawa so paid a lot of attention to the Sens for a bit. I liked pretty much anyone but the Rangers.

I only settled upon the Blue Jackets for sure once I moved here. Some of us regulars on the ESPN boards would hide out on the Jackets board because it was so quiet, much to the chagrin of one particular Jackets fan...
