Canucks have Petey and Hughes who lead by example and get the other guys pulling in the same direction. Flames have no identity, Huby and Kadri are just floating out there yet still continue to get PP time, no accountability from the new head coach.

Bad start for new management

So instead of trading all the pending UFA’s and other assets in the summer and jump starting a rebuild the Flames pushed it down the line, will probably get less for a lot of guys than they would’ve and to boot are now stuck with Backlund for two more years.

Hope they come to their senses soon and start cashing in so the tank can begin in earnest.

I'm still very proud of myself for winning a couple of bucks based on a team's entrance attire.

Treliving sure left things messy before skipping town, didn't he?

Huberdeau had a little of 20 minutes of ice time tonight including 5:25 of powerplay time, 1 shot on goal and a -1 on the night. Sutter is long gone, so what's your excuse now Jonathan?

It's going to be difficult to be worse than the Sharks this season, but the Flames look like they are trying their best.

Was it that bad a game? 46 shots on Oettinger.

Looks like one where if Marky made a few saves they could’ve beaten a legit Cup contender?

Probably was Kadri's best game of the season which likely means he'll be coasting for the next four or so. Huby has disappeared after a pretty good start to the season. Markstrom is returning to mid-season form (i.e. not good).

Now I think we're at the point where the team just expects bad things to happen. Maybe that's a good thing, there is some good UFA's that can fetch some good pieces, it's pretty clear this team needs to be refreshed.

how is Dallas still such a good team. I never understand it. I always feel this is the year they age out.
