I mean, he's put a ton of money in the owner's pockets and that's his main job duty. It does make me wonder how much more money the owners could have made without some of the piss poor decisions Gary has made through the years, though.

I'm not really blaming Gary for this. The NHL, at least on the surface, does way more pride-related shit than any other league. Baseball had a few instances with this last year and it blew over pretty fast, the same isn't happening here and he isn't really left with many options (if any? can he fine the players? Would doing so be constitutional under US law?).

yeah fair point, but it is his leadership and its been a strong voice of if you can play you can play.. now players while not openly saying that they can't but they are saying they are not tolerant of them
