I think I'm a pretty positive person for the most part, but it's important to be a realist as well. This Flames team hasn't shown me that they can go on any kind of sustained run.

@mattola , the other thing to consider is if the Flames were to somehow squeak into the playoffs, that likely means Sutter won't be fired. I think the players don't want Sutter to return.

I'm not really blaming Gary for this. The NHL, at least on the surface, does way more pride-related shit than any other league. Baseball had a few instances with this last year and it blew over pretty fast, the same isn't happening here and he isn't really left with many options (if any? can he fine the players? Would doing so be constitutional under US law?).
