1) keep the pick unless you can move it for a 1D, which you can’t. Don’t trade it did a fucking goalie.

2) I don’t want to be the ones to sign Tanev. Great today but that clock is ticking.

The rest is fine. Please do something big.

I don’t understand how Domi can be worth more than Joshua? Like if he wants to be there say here’s $2.5 mil x 4 take it or we’ll find a spare part on the market.

I mean, if I'm Max Domi and the Leafs are coming to the table with 3.5 to 4 mill per season on a 4 year deal, I'm asking where do I sign? That's great security and money. This guy has scored 11 goals in his last 100 NHL games.

Greg Buttons this morning on TSN 1050 for some reason decided it was a good time to criticize the Leafs for taking the guy who died of cancer last year with their first round pick a few years back. Prefaced it with obviously terrible he died etc. but says that they should've taken a defenceman.

Anyway, here's a radio hit from a few years ago for no particular reason.

Ultimate fucking loser, man.

Not sure how others feel but this would make more sense and Domi and Bertuzzi combined.

Too old, contract too long, will get suspended for the playoffs 100%.

I don’t need Tre to go get every former Flame. He can sit some out. Try on Tanev if he’ll take a hometown discount otherwise figure it out elsewhere.

Didn't realize that contract ran until he was 37. If Bertuzzi or Domi get five-year deals they will both be 35 when it runs out.

Granted that would be insane to give either of those players contracts that long.

So Nick Robertson has asked to be traded.
He plays well in the A, gets hurt, plays well in the A again, gets a call up, doesn’t impress, goes down, gets hurt again, spends rest of season recovering and not impressing, doesn’t make big team out of camp, plays well in the A, gets call up, doesn’t impress, goes down to the A, gets hurt…

Just jumble that and repeat. He’s lucky the team is even still bothering with him at this point. Think this is one where the club should tell him to shove it and try to impress the new coach.

A day of digestion later and I don't think you can really say this team's any better geared toward winning than it was in May. Tanev's nice but at best we're hoping he can do what Brodie did the first couple years of his contract and I just don't think that moves the needle much. Also relying on another experimental tandem in net.

Up front is just nothing unless Mitch gets moved which seems unlikelier by the day. Running it back with Tavares a year older, hoping Knies takes a step forward and praying that Grebyonkin, Cowan and/or Minten can take some spots as rookies isn't a good plan.

Goes back to keeping Shanahan and letting him stay in control of everything after Dubas left. Looking at another wasted year of Matthews.
