I’ve been saying here for about a year he’s probably not staying in TO, and if that’s the case they absolutely have to trade him this off-season (and if he stays, Nylander or Marner’s gotta go).

If they bow out in the first round again I don’t think anybody really wants to see this exact core again anyway (even if the bigger issue is and has been a lack of depth scoring) and with all the other pending UFA’s they should be able to wheel and deal their way to some more spread out scoring. And can keep ROR for cheaper to plug the hole at C until someone else emerges.

He’s done everything he can really. Nothing’s on him and if he wants to go to LA or Florida or Vegas Dubas or whoever replaces him will be more than happy to trade him to his preferred destination for a haul.

I get Dubas is kind of linked with him now but there’s nothing to salvage here.

Further, Woll’s been the better goalie. It’s not like they’re stuck here. If this is a now or never season they have to get Woll back up and give him reps.
