Ok things are weird when guys on the Leafs are regularly scoring against their old teams.

If ROR winds up cheap as hell then maybe I guess but if you're going the rental route on offence I'm not sure why you're not trying to get Bo or Timo Meier. Not sure how management can look at the way their forwards disappear every spring and say "yup, we need another big body on the blue line, THAT'LL solve it".

/You might be able to get Schenn back from the Canucks with Bo as well and you can knock off another check on the list if you're that concerned about the blue line (again, I'm not).

Gotta give props to Kallgren. He really did a nice job for us in the 5 games he came in since Samsanov was injured. Two wins, 1 OT loss, 1 reg loss, and a shared win (no goals against) vs Boston. He's not NHL caliber - 4th on depth chart - so he played above his head.

But he’s definitely outplaying at least Engvall so I’m not sure what the deal is here.

The Leafs are blowing $6.65 mil in cap space on Kerfoot, Engvall and Simmonds. One of them is a healthy scratch 2/3 games and the other two are as equally useless.

Throw in the $2.1 mil for Jarnkrok that's $8.75 mil that you could've signed Hyman or Marchment or anybody else who was available and plugged in two guys for $3 mil who would be at worst equally as useless as the ones I named above.

It's great that Dubas found some value in guys like Bunting and Kampf but when you're passing on bonafide talent because you're squandering that much cap space on guys of actual value it's still a net loss, and that's without getting into the debacle where they had Jared McCann for free and exposed him instead of Justin fucking Holl.
