Had the game on yesterday while doing some household stuff. It's preseason but Michael Bunting might be a decent 2LW option. Guy definitely worked his ass off last night.

/Ho-Sang had a few nice setups on Bunting's goals and Liljegren looked solid for good stretches of play. I still think they're absolutely boned in their bottom 6 though.

Also doesn't look like there's anybody making a great impression from the prospect pool save Liljegren, which is really disappointing. Leafs became a slightly more successful version of the Oilers where they got a couple more top picks right and developed properly but anything after R1 has been a waste. Robertson's on D+3 and maybe he gets a call when the injuries inevitably happen and runs with it but beyond that possibility it's slim pickings.

I know he has to do this but he also gave the guy $11 mil a year to have more puck over glass penalties than points in the playoffs. At some point you kinda have to say “yeah, I get why fans are upset and we’re a little upset that we aren’t getting value for money and cap space here”.
