I don't think that re-signing Spezza for league min really precludes making changes though. I'm not going to talk about a Simmonds contract until it happens and/or we have some details but this is almost certainly a positive value deal that can be buried if it isn't. Can't see any reason not to like it.

Don't know why they threw in a second year but $900k per isn't worrisome.
