I like Werenski but I don't think he's progressed the past two years the way he looked like he would in his first two years. Not entirely sure I trust him without Seth Jones next to him, at least not enough to trade a guy on pace for 30 goals and 70 pts for.

I have no idea what you see in Savard. The guy's on pace for as many points as Jack Johnson and hasn't scored since March.

I mean, if you can find me a trade where an above-average young scorer locked up at a good amount for five more years was traded for a good stay-at-home second pair guy with almost non-existent defensive capability pushing 30 with one more year before UFA left on his contract I'll cede the point.

The Leafs already have one Jake Muzzin and they didn't give up nearly that much to get him, and he at least does something on the other side of the ice.
