Actually, promising to separate might help. Ottawa would become the province's largest city (for a hot minute, until all the Toronto people spill over into Mississauga) and Melnyk could badger Queen's Park II for arena money for "Ontario's team" (although in addition to the Leafs the Wings, Sabres and Habs would still likely be more popular in New Ontario than the Sens).

I'll gladly flip Jake and an imaginary line for Karlsson and, say, that Chabot kid too (he doesn't want to lose his mentor). If we toss in Brown and a 2nd we could probably get Duchene too but then we'd probably miss the playoffs.
