I think the talk is more about how he had the team over a barrel and could have pushed really hard. Pubic sentiment is bad, and he could have really gotten greedy and beaten the shit out of them and he didn't. He just made the sensible move, and wasn't a dick about it. Good move all around.

Which is all too rare lately. Noone is sure how to react.

I would be doing cartwheels if either Jones or Werenski were on the same deal.

1) He apparently likes the city.

2) He really likes the young guys just breaking in with the team like White, Tkachuk, Brown and Batherson among others. Thinks they could grow into something really special.

3) This one is most important. He now does not need to speak to, or have any direct contact with, Eugene Melnyk for the next 9 years.

Toward the Sens ownership and management, I meant. He could have fought the battle in public and won big time.

I think he meant that pubic stuff is generally viewed positively.

This was a bit of a boner on my part; I meant to say I disagree long and hard about their pubic sentiment.

Indeed, bulging with positivity.

and

4) He has inside intel that a new downtown arena is going to be built. And to set himself up, he bought a sweet condo near Parliament Hill, complete with hot dog machine.

a couple of days ago, five former Sens were leading their respective teams in scoring.
Stone
Zibanejad
Duchene
Silfverberg
Hoffman
Dzingle also had more points than any Sen (7 in 9 games)
of course, Karlsson with 6 points in 7 games as well would lead the Sens

can't believe i was too lazy to tinyurl a sportsnet link, but retyped most of it anyway

31 THOUGHTS

1. With Artem Anisimov and Colin White down to injury, Ottawa is trying hard to add a forward.

I wonder if baertschi is being offered. :( Canucks have to get rid of salary for roussel to return.

Get rid of ericksson, and you can basically afford both.
How sad is that.

I like Ian Mendes and I echo his best wishes to Bobby Ryan as he deals with some off-ice issues...

I've met Bobby a couple of times and he is without a doubt the nicest pro athlete I've met. Considering what he went through as a kid he seems remarkably well-adjusted in person. Some people are also really good at hiding their demons.

I have no idea what he's going through and I don't really care but I'm glad he's getting the help he needs.

Best of luck Bobby Ryan. Your health comes first.

I watched a little of the Sens - Habs game last night, Sens are a fun, fast and entertaining team to watch. Much more enjoyable than those slow, plodding Calgary Flames.
