This has to be Devcore that he's referring to, which is best for everything, IMO.

They have a plan for an NHL sized arena. If that gets built than it becomes the main music venue for the city too. Melnyk is pretty much done in Kanata at that point.
My only questions are 1) Does Devcore have the money to buy an NHL team from Melnyk, a sum that will likely exceed half a billion US, and 2) Does Melnyk just pick up his shit and apply to move the team to QC out of spite?

Bettman is going to have his hands full with this one.

Devcore and their partners have plenty for an NHL team and I would bet they are the ones who made an offer this year. In fact I'd almost guarantee it.

As for moving, Melnyk hasn't a hope in hell. Notwithstanding the stipulations he'd need to meet and approvals he'd need under NHL regulations, there is no way he can afford a relocation fee. Factor in that he owns the building in Ottawa and it makes even less sense (not that that would bother him obviously). I'm sure he's spiteful and petty enough to consider a relocation but he can't do it.

There is no doubt that Bettman is watching this latest development closely. I don't know what he can do but I'd bet Melnyk is becoming increasingly unpopular among NHL higher ups. Pressure will be applied I'm sure but Melnyk is a stubborn, illogical, tenacious little shit. Might be nothing for it but to wait until he burns through another liver.

My only caveat is that if he partnered up with Quebecor he could get a share of the QC arena as well as money for a relocation fee.

He could also pursue something in Southern Ontario where he'd have a shit ton more capital options to choose from, although then you're getting into additional payments to local teams for territorial rights.

The thing with the owners is the precedent that would be set if the league doesn't back one of their own in a dispute over an arena. If they pretty much tell Eugene to sell in order to secure the Ottawa market, how much faith is the next owner who needs a new arena going to have in the NHL backing them up in a similar scenario? Bottom line, the league's head office works for the owners. Even if some/most think Eugene is being an idiot, unconditional support has generally been the ethos of that group.

Marc Crawford named interim head coach of rebuilding Ottawa Senators

Bouch gets the boot.

Didn't watch enough Sens to know if it's the right move, but he's at best third on the list of people who need to leave that team.

Just in fucking time eh Pieugene Dorinyk? Maybe make this move while you still had a chance to convince Stone and Duchene that the team was headed in the right direction? Dipshits.

Boucher needed to go though. He is not the right person to lead a team of young players. He's way too reliant on useless vets (Smith, Boro, Pyatt, etc.). The Sens need a coach who teaches well and adapts to the strength of his individual players.

But LOL at Crawford. He is not that guy.

Oh well.

This thread is fucking amazing and I mean amazing bad looking for this team

There is plenty of ammo about how badly this team has been run that I don't think the piece of shit who wrote this needed to include a player living through a stillborn child.

Fuck off. That's just being a hateful waste of skin.

For sure. Or basically anything that's happened in the last 18 months except for a mother losing her child.

The Sens sent out additional tickets perk packet to Partial and Season Ticket holders. It had a Wings fan flipping them off.

At this point I have to consider that all this mayhem is actually a performance art piece. Because it doesn't even seem possible to be that inept by chance.
