Obviously this could fall apart in a heartbeat, but still. Reason to be hopeful.

I honestly believe it would work in Seattle, but it's a non-starter until the arena is built. With four WHL teams in Washington state (two essentially in Seattle), the fanbase is there. I think they would also pull fans from the lower mainland as well.
I think an NHL team would work in Seattle. It would be a geographical rival for Vancouver and has 3.4 million people in the metro area. I agree with Julian tho, where would the team come from?
before Atl moved, there were rumoured to be six teams in various degrees of financial peril.
Pho & Fla are the obvious ones. not sure of the others.
I recall some mention recently of CBJ losing significant chunks of change.
us folks on the west coast have very little sympathy for anyone else's travel woes.If a team like the Panthers were to move there, or to another Western city, I think it would be better for the league. Figure 2 teams that shouldn't be in the West (Detroit, Columbus, Nashville) could now move to the Eastern conference with the departure of the Thrashers. The time zone changes during travel wouldn't be as severe or as often.
that changes the moment Glendale stops writing $25m cheques.Phoenix would be the obvious choice (at least to most people) but Bettman has them in a figure four leg lock to keep them in Arizona.

That was kinda my point. It makes life easier on everybody, especially a team like Vancouver who would travel to Winnipeg and Seattle as opposed to Nashville and Detroit.

Nashville is in the Central Time Zone, same as Chicago and St. Louis and the like. Why should they be in the Eastern Conference? Detroit and Columbus are the only 2 Western Conference teams in the Eastern Time Zone.
