Barry Sanders would like a word with you, comeds.

Barry might get my pick as the best RB. I have to admit, I loved Thurmon Thomas though.

Honestly Steve Young might get my QB pick. I know its goofy as his prime may have been shorter than other great QBs, but the years he was at his best he was tremendous.

Caveat, I only choose players that have played when I was watching. I dont think I can judge players from long ago from watching highlights or reading about them.

Rich coming from a Canucks fan, the kind of team that hangs Presidents Trophy and Division Champion banners in their arena instead of Stanley Cup ones (for obvious reasons).
Leafs Rafters haven't had any raisings since 67 so they retire #'s so that the fans notice that once upon a time the Leafs actually won something

Yeah, I never saw Jim Brown play live (I'm old, but not quite that old), but by all accounts, he was the most dominant player of his era (and some guys say he's still the greatest they have ever seen).

It would have been high comedy if you had posted this in the football threads.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid.

:yahoo:

I never saw Johnny U play, but there is some borderline obsessive devotion to him among my family elders. Plus the times I met him, he was tremendously friendly. So, I am sorry. He is the greatest ever.

All that comes to mind is whenever I watch a game where it is "unseasonably" mild, rained all day with the barometer up, ice is terrible. All the rain in seattle they would need to keep that place so cold to keep the ice good all game it would probably be uncomfortable.

If they double up the HVAC system to handle the load, they would probably do ok.

With a guy from Seattle paying 2 billion for the clippers, I expect them to move when an arena gets built. So to me its a pair of teams, not just one or the other.

Late in the 3rd quarter was their prime choking time. I don't know when that's from, but I'm reasonably certain the Bills managed to blow it.

Yep. The pats scored 31 in the 4th to win 52 - 28. :L

You spelled Jim Thorpe wrong.

Are you SH's version of Dole. No wait you actually posted in the right spot

I'm SH's version of me, everyone else is an imposter or a poor imitation.

Seems to not be a problem here in Vancouver

The Seattle city council will be cool with hockey, they hate minorities though.

I call shenanigans for retiring numbers more than once. Kinda goes against the whole idea of "retiring" a number.

They haven't retired them all. They have what they call honoured numbers in Toronto. They've only officially retired Ace Bailey and Bill Barilko.

Johnny Unitas and Raymond Berry played for the Niners?

Learn something new every day.

Montana is the greatest QB in NFL history, and Rice is inarguably the greatest anything in NFL history.

Those two might've been the best in the AFL, though...
