I will never defend Bob Nutting but I think $17M a year is way too much to pay Reynolds
I think all baseball players are overpaid but that does align with his value. Also the offer the Pirates made him is a joke in terms of what baseball players make. Probably he should be in the 14-15 range.

Granted I would rather them pay Cruz if he has a big year vs Reynolds.

What they offered, is what he's worth...sorry, but it's true
Ehhh 13 million is low and they will continue to low ball without ever coming to common ground.

If you go off the average per 1 WAR of $5.38 million with his WAR of 2.9 that would put his value at around 15 million per year.

When are we going to stop feeding the pig? I don't mean just Nutting, but all of MLB.

Yep. And what is sad, per that article Nutting didn’t like the CBA but signed it because he didn’t want to essentially disrupt the boat. Also he was more concerned about making money short-term vs doing what was right for the long-term for baseball.

Not buying it? Well that is how they value players and you can think all you want. He is worth that much in terms of actual value.

The point the Pirates will never pay actual value and when their owner had a chance to make it work for his team he decided to put the money in his pocket and doesn’t care if his team competes.

I mean Marcus it is all relative. Everyone looks young compared to the guys sitting on the bench.

Hextall waived McGinn and Friedman. Nothing like signing terrible players to terrible contracts and then hoping somebody else picks them up to clean up your mistakes.

This moron got lucky with the whole Kapanen thing. I don’t think he’s gonna get his lucky this time with these two plugs.

And he is supposedly clearing cap space trying to trade for JT Miller.

What an absolute shit show

Hey wasn't McGinn an upgrade over Tanev? :noidea:

Even worse they should have just waived this more expensive version of Friedman in Rutta.

He could have waived Rutta too but that would have been like the past three guys he signed lol
