Making fun of the Oilers is getting difficult now that the Flames are on a 6 game skid.

It's a young team dash.

Gotta just roll with the inconsistency. Win? Playoffs maybe!! Lose? High pick gets closer!!

At least they're playing hard and giving some kids a chance. That's all I ask of my Sens (least experienced team in the league).

The future is bright in Calgary.

Yup, that's true, this season is gravy, I went into it with low expectations, the team surprised early, but it looks like reality is setting in now.

Definitely looks like they're coming back down to earth. The plus side is that if things do go farther south, they have some pieces that have performed very well that would be much sought after trade bait.

Stick with it. It gets easier.

And if you're like me, right around when you get comfortable picking on them your team will go on a run.

The Ottawa one is by far the worst - Z-Bad, Cowen and a 1st in 2015? Yikes

The Pittsburgh one is pretty bad too.

The notion of of the Avs giving up Landeskog is pretty sketchy too.

I agree though. I like Hall as a player but no way do I want Ottawa to give up that package to get him.

To Columbus Blue Jackets = Taylor Hall, Jeff Petry and Martin Marincin

To Edmonton Oilers = Ryan Johansen, Scott Hartnell and James Wisniewski
Ryan Johansen

ANALYSIS: Edmonton apparently inquired about Johansen’s availability and the answer was no, but that’s assuming Hall’s name wasn’t in the conversation. They are a decent swap, though Hall is still more dynamic. Petry is a pending UFA but Hartnell is a salary dump, so consider them a wash. Marincin is supposedly coveted by a lot of teams, while Wisniewski would give Edmonton an upgrade on defence. Wisniewski does have a modified no-trade clause, so if he wouldn’t waive for Edmonton, then substitute David Savard.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *deep breath* HAAAAAAAAH! That was fun, Larry, that was fun. No way in hell the Pens make that kind of deal. Olli Maatta, the kid who has shown shades of Lidstrom-ian qualities, isn't moving. And if he were, they sure as hell wouldn't move the guy who would then replace Maatta. That's trading away a first (expected in the deal), the #1 goalie prospect (little uncomfortable, but alright...), our #1 prospect in general (much more uncomfortable), and a top 4 NHL caliber defenseman (HAH!). And the Avs trading Landeskog PLUS for him? Look, I know this is probably an initial proposal from the Oilers (or it SHOULD be at least), but there's not one of these deals I see happening. Kane and Big Buff? Hall is a great young player on a good deal, but he's one impact player...and most of these involve moving one or more NHL impact players plus high end assets. Asinine.

I know Gentille did one of these as well, and I think his deal from the Pens was Sutter, Maatta, and Harrington or Dumolin. Again, the Pens wouldn't do that, but it's probably what the Oilers are expecting in return. The cost doesn't match the potential benefit. Sutter isn't really easily replaced, and despite their depth, Maatta isn't either. Maatta is on my untouchable list.

To EDM: Larkin, Jurco, Ericsson, Marchenko, 2015 1st round, and 2016 2nd round.

It’s still not enough, not what Edmonton would be looking for in return. The Oilers can definitely do better elsewhere.

LSD; Not even once.

Actually, I think the other way around - I don't think THAT highly of Z-Bad and Cowen - sure the first rounder is nice but I think Jared Cowen would rot in Edmonton - he'd need to be in a better environment than that - Z-Bad is a nice player and he might really get it all together but I think they need a little better package in return and the Sens need defensive help too so the fit isn't that great between the two teams

But I agree in the general sense that I don't think teams should be giving up that much for Taylor Hall

Sabres one is pretty comical too. So I guess that means pretty much all of them are.

I have no doubt the Sabres would move Myers for the right offer. Grigorenko too, even though he hasn't had much chance yet. But there's no way on Earth they give up on Zadorov this early. Not when they're giving up that much else at least.

One for one swap - Taylor Hall for Seth Jones - I think Poile has a chuckle and hangs up on MacT, what do you guys think?

That's a tough one but if I'm Nashville I'd certainly think about it. Still have Josi and Weber on the back end and add a top flight scorer.
