The funny thing is the Oilers scouting dept. wanted to take Murray, but owner Dayrl Katz stepped in and said take the Yakster.

/At least that's the popular story.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall near Howson that day.

"So we have a decision to make, when Edmonton takes Murray we need to decide between Yakupov and Galchenyuk. There's also Reinhart, we could really use D"
*Edmonton Picks*
"They took WHO? Ummmm, do they know something we don't? Becaus-"
*Tyler Wright tackles him and screams* "TAKE RYAN MURRAY!"

Jean Francois-Jacques has signed in Austria. Not even good enough for the KHL.

I wonder which former Oiler player will take Steve Smith's place - Lee Fogolin, Dave Jackson, or maybe Dr. Randy Gregg.

They could bring back Woburn Collegiate's very own Charlie Huddy for a second round, I'm sure the Jets aren't very attached to him. 5 Stanley Cup rings you know

It's only two years so not bad for the Oilers, he tends to make some really good plays and then some head scratching ones, as 43 would know

Maybe Nikitin is the guy who asked for only two years?

I'm hearing Yak is changing his number from #64 to #10 - I guess we can hope to see Yak #64 jerseys hitting the Rexall Place ice as soon as opening night (lol).

Still should have a negative sign in front of whatever number he wears
