I think I saw some tweets from various Edmonton media scribes that said the 330 shmill the Flames were getting from the province was 330 more than the Oilers got. I can't be bothered to research further to determine if that is true or not lol.

Pretty sure the Flames new arena will have a special restroom for just Oilers fans. All the troughs, urinals and bidets a tier one fan could hope for.

Sure but they got a legit 1D out of trading those who should be good for at least another year or two.

And they have next year's pick which they really shouldn't be holding onto.

Even cap-wise, they're tight but it's not exactly a disaster which is saying a lot considering the number of awful contracts on the books. Buying out Ceci would get them some pretty good savings for next season. Not that I think it's on the radar but they could theoretically wave the flag on Campbell as well and get some good relief there too (although they'll be carrying a hit of $1.5 mil until 2031 lol).

If this has to be the absolute throw all caution to the wind get it done year because of Draisaitl's pending UFA after 24-25 they could be in a much worse spot.

Plus side they’re probably fucked royally after next season, and that’s before the reality of McDavid’s pending UFA status sets in.
