I think there is interest from other teams in Loui. His contract meets the needs of a team trying to hit the floor and doesnt have much cash out left. He still provides something (little things? - rip botch) - certainly more than Lucic.

Those floor-short teams right now save Ottawa seem to be teams expecting to make the playoffs and improve as of next season. None of them are really in the tear-down-and-rebuild stage where you may want a cap eating contract.

If Vancouver ate up to half the cap hit I think there are suitors. Benning obviously wouldn't start negotiating there but it could get down to that level and then I can see a deal. 3 years is a long time to have a guy on your roster if you aren't convinced he'll help, though - even the Sens expect to be getting ready to trade everyone on their roster again by that point.
