I mean, it's an exercise in futility because whomever is the next GM in Edmonton won't be looking to trade Leon. McDavid is untouchable, so who else does that leave with any trade value? RNH I guess, but he's on a great contract.

Makes him more valuable though - a cap-strapped team on the verge of contention can trade for a $6 million/yr centre who puts up points? How do you pass that up?

For me, that's the deal where I go find a good top 4 d-man and maybe some extra, so long as they're fully cognizant that the return has to be that and not Hall-for-Larsson 2.0.
