Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
Saw this during the Preds telecast. Wayne actually looked, gasp, sober. Hope he is getting it together.
The whiskey drowns and the beer chases his blues away, Dave

If this team wasn’t based in Canada, where fans throw money at a team no matter what, it would have folded, relocated or changed the way it operates years ago. But here were are, caught in a vicious cycle of sellouts, draft lotteries and abject failure.
Is Daryl Katz ever going to fix the Edmonton Oilers?
Edmonton media is just the worst - Sam Bennett had already had shoulder surgery, Sean Monahan has hid hip and wrist surgery.

Dreger really pushing Dave Nonis as a GM candidate in Edmonton last night.
We all talk a lot of fun about the Oilers but I think even they wouldn't be that stupid. McDavid would demand a trade that same day.
Probably just Dregs doing his cousin a favour here, right?
I think it'd be fucking hilarious but I cannot imagine they're dumb enough to consider it, which makes it a bit funnier to me because that means Dregs is actively trying to get Davey back in a GM chair so he can actually get "scoops".That's not a bad thing - I'm on the Nonis bandwagon lol

Only caveat here is if McDavid demands it, they're gone.I wonder about whomever they bring in would have the cajones to say "One condition of taking this job is that Lowe and MacT have to go". Would Katz be willing to agree to that? Based on past history, it's unlikely that would happen.
Will Oilers brass have the balls to move Draisaitl this off-season? He has an outside chance at 50 goals this season and his stock will likely never be higher than it is right now. This is their chance at getting a top end defenseman along with a couple of very good prospects to start rebuild #4 (or is it #5).

I just can't envision, even with a competent general manager, a trade where you give Drai and win on the return. Even if he's not a top ten player in the NHL, he's probably a top 25 one and signed to a good contract (by today's standards) so 1) what does a player like that cost in assets, and 2) who is crazy enough to give that up?As stated earlier, his stock will never be higher - If the Oilers are serious about getting better, they should serious think about moving the German in the off-season.

The only team I can think of that might have what it takes is Nashville but I have to think that if they haven't dealt from their blue line wealth by now they're never going to.
