I'm certain this is not a veiled insinuation that the refs here display any kind of bias. :D

I use "veiled" and "insinuation" loosely.

The on ice officials are okay, it's those idiots in the war room that fuck everything up.

(but no, my comment was more about how some members can say all sorts of shit while others get lambasted for trivial things)

I love this kid.

Werenski played through injury most of season for Blue Jackets

No real surprise. Speculation is he played with a jacked up knee or back issue.

I also expect we will hear Panarin's knee also went wonky. I think he tweaked it trying to jump out of the way before the ENG in game 4. He just didn't have the acceleration after that.

There it is.

So, at another online gathering spot of Jackets fans, the talk has turned to the offseason and the consensus is we need another top 6 forward. Naturally, the one we need is John Tavares. A few people have even taken the step of going to Cap Friendly and figuring out how we can do it. Whether or not he would ever consider coming here notwithstanding.

One proposal has us signing JT for 11m, re-signing Cole, Vanek and Letestu AND giving Bob and Panarin raises before they hit UFA. And believe it or not at an 80m cap, the math works.

The lynchpin for the whole deal? Trading Dubinski and a second rounder to Vancouver for a 4th rounder. This was the actual proposal. No salary retained of course. Kind of surprised they didn't add Sonny Milano to get Boeser in return.

if I may be so bold as to speak on behalf of Vancouver.

Blue Jackets | Zach Werenski has shoulder surgery, out 5 to 6 months

He had a shoulder issue since the end of October. Will be out of commission for 5 to 6 months.

This makes me feel a little better...I was slightly disappointed this year (still played well) after his rookie year.

Yeah, this season was a downgrade from "God-like" to merely "awesome".

Get well, Zach.

There's also this:

Jackets reportedly denying the request to speak to him. If it was Larsen, I'd welcome it. The Architect of the worst Power Play in the history of the team.

Not hockey related, but damn. Don't know what the runner did, but that leg sweep probably saved his life as well as the lives of a few cops.

But I don't like the "Recent Threads" window that now shows up on the right in my desktop browser. I hope there's a way to disable that.

Cam still rocking along over in Denmark.

Also, story circulating locally about the Jack Johnson saga. Jackets are rumo(u)red to have offered him 4 @ 4.5 (when they were convinced they were trading Murray for Duchene) and he turned it down as "not enough". Then around the deadline, his agent told the Jackets that they would go ahead and accept the deal, which was no longer on the table. This apparently pissed JJ and his agent off so they went public with the trade request. Jackets supposedly didn't even bother to look at offers and just waited for the D to get healthy so they could bench him and keep him away. Some discussion that he was such an asshole about it that the Jackets decided to try and drive his UFA value down.

Guy's as shrewd a businessman as his parents if that's true.
