Well, thank God no NHL GMs read my posts here. He made it through waivers and will play top 2 minutes down there. Then he will be in good shape when Murray inevitably gets hurt, or Torts benches Werensky because no one else is good enough to get Torts'ed, or when Jack Johnson goes missing in a set of strange circumstances that I will totally have an alibi for.

Speaking of Torts'ed; today's inexplicable healthy scratching is Sam Gagner. Which is pretty impressive. I had no idea he was the de facto best player on the team.

And also, tonight is Anisimov's first game back in Nationwide since the trade.

God Damn, this Werenski kid is going to be something special. Goal and assist so far. Has made a ton of plays happen.

And to Torts' credit, so far, he's been allowed to play his game.

Three games is apparently enough for Ollie. Maybe he should have gotten a shot with the top line alongside Calvert and Dubinsky.

It's doubly stupid because the guy Ollie tore it up with in AHL playoffs finally got in a game last night and looked strong, Lukas Sedlak.

And congrats to the proven winner (tm) for getting back to a record where he's won half of the games he's coached with this team.

I don't know who these guys are. They are matching Dallas stride for stride, making stretch passes, not laying back in lanes to block shots, and dare I say they are actually focusing on possession, flow and driving forward from the quiet space in the zone. Dallas can't get to the slot, either.

They have one goal tonight and it was a sweet tic-tac-toe that came from a 4 on 2 that started when they pounced on a bounce back inside their blue line.

They're like... playing hockey. Good hockey.

And as always, Fuck Dallas

Never mind how lowly the mark is. Kind of like how Bobski is the winningest goalie in Jackets history. He just won #100. Still a nice shout out from the NHL.

In addition to that, The Jackets record for points by a rookie defenseman in a season for the Jackets is 21 by Ryan Murray. Zach has 5 already. Kid is seeming to change the way the team plays when he's on the ice. Please God, let Torts not interfere. They were downright fun to watch against Dallas.

Ya know, for a team that essentially lost their best offensive player when he came to town (of their own volition) and lost their starting goaler for half the year while playing in the division that provided last season's Presidents Trophy and Stanley Cup winners, 83 pts isn't too awful.

I'll trade ya.

I would counter with the fact they lost that offensive player because Torts, for no apparent reason other than it's "what Torts does", decided to attack and humiliate him. And that goalie popped his groin moving side to side reacting to shots that weren't fully blocked but deflected. A lot.

Plus, the rookie goalie who came up played solid and finished the season with a .920 sv%. If your goalie is making that many saves and you can't get above .500, something is horribly wrong.

Career regular season, Torts was 15 games over 500 when he got here. Now, a year later, he is 16 above.

Proven Winner (tm)

And hey, kudos to Twatwaffle to jabbing at Torts.

I know you said that. What I was saying is that you can't give a coach credit for handling an adverse situation he created. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. No. No way. uh uh. Forget it.

I'm not giving anybody much credit. The entire organisation is a tire fire at this point.

Just saying given the roster moves and injuries he's had them punching in their own weight class.
