I do not want any part of that disaster of a MAF contract, but we might be able to flip him to like Edmonton for a real, valuable player.

The Montreal one is a bit expensive for the Habs, but at this point, I would kind of prefer Suzuki straight up. Still expensive, but that kid's gonna be a fucking star.

And if we trade with Winny, we should figure out what to add to bring in Roslovic. PLD and MDZ, Cond 2nd for Laine, Roslo. The second becomes a first if Laine extends.

This is a perfect storm. This is typically the time of year we get the half-timers who are more devoted to the Buckeyes coming over and declaring themselves hardcore fans, and they typically bring with them a bunch of hilariously stupid takes. Add in that our season just started with a uncomfortable situation hanging over it and all the half-timers have nothing but furious impotent anger because the Buckeyes got FUCKING SERVED on national TV and they are focusing it on PLD.

Every other Blue Jackets forum is a dumpster fire right now. Everyone has a trade idea. Someone actually today suggested MacKinnon for PLD because they are both "top line centers".

At this point I don't care where he would be happy. I only care about getting value. If it's about "exposure" and building a brand he would get more airtime in Calgary than in Columbus.

I would take Monahan and Zary or Pelletier.

Rationale being that he has more room to grow than Monhan does at this point.

I’m really surprised you find the Habs one expensive for them. I haven’t seen anything in Kotkaniemi that indicates he’s going to grow into anything more than a 2C. Poehling likewise maxes out at 3C. Decent pieces but nothing I’d move a guy who’s at worst a 2C on a great team for.

And the Habs would be insane to trade Suzuki. Kid’s the real deal.

yup. Apparently the word is Bergy has said Romanov and Suzuki are off limits. They lose a few and it will be interesting to see how that changes. If we turned PLD into Suzuki I wouldn't be able to contain myself.

My main hope is still a trade with Winnipeg for Roslo and Laine. Or Calgary to get Monahan. however it works out.
