Rollie Melanson is coming back and is expecting to wrap up his extension shortly. That leads to a scenario where the starting goalies next year are the two goalies who are here now.

im, not unhappy, Ill be ok with Lack and giving him the chance, he has shown some great stuff against some strong teams this year.

when El presidente was on with Sekeres, Sekeres managed to pull his face out of Trevs lap and asked a good question about the assistant GM.

I really hope they dont lose Gillman because he is all about the fancy stats and Trev admits he doesnt know much about them

One thing in his answer to sekeres was that Smyl is not being considered for the gm job ... i think its time they turf him

if you havent listened to the Duthie story about Aquilini and Gillis before game 3 in boston ... it is certainly cringeworthy

and yah ... i also agree its real poor form by Duthie to tell this story yesterday to dance on Gillys grave



That was a helluva tale that Duthie laid out about Gilly crowing about building a championship team at a TSN dinner while Aquilini bought $2,000 bottles of Tequila for the audience before Game 3 of the 2011 Stanley Cup finals.

I can only imagine the scenes Aquilini and Gilly were causing cruising around after the Canucks took the first two games. One with more money than anyone should have and the other with more confidence.

I can’t say what I would have done with the story and I certainly don’t have a problem with Duthie telling it, though I wonder if that would happen if Gilly was still in a power position.

I dont remember it during the PC but I didnt hear one question about gilman, I would be very ok with Smyl just going into the sunset

The order of the Kesler story is rather interesting. He asked for a trade, a move that was at least partially incited by the so-called stripping of the “A.”Up to this point, most have assumed it was a Torts decision, but it may have been a team vote which changes this conversation entirely. i.e. It’s not just the coach.
