Tortorella has been criticized for overplaying his core players and giving the Sedins fewer offensive zone starts than his predecessor, Alain Vigneault. But Henrik would have none of it.

“No, I don’t’ think so,” said Henrik. “Up to a few games after Christmas, we were right there — close to a point a game. He gives us enough days off to feel rested for the games. We felt good. We were a little down over Christmas where we didn’t feel great, but after that I felt great for a few weeks. I might answer this after the season, but there’s reasons why we are where we are. It’s not on the coach or anyone around us.”

will it surprise anyone to see both Sedins have offseason surgeries?

I'm not listening - Is he being led down that path by Fat Pratt?

Im not even really listening to the questions lol Im listening to the responses and Im getting the feeling that he has a vision (just bare with me - lol) and if that vision isnt being listened to ... hes walking ... he also isnt down with a President role

The Province (*cough* Gallagher) has done enough in the past couple weeks of laying out the Gillis story ... ie Torts wasnt his hire

I think he was referring more to his personal decisions ... ie leaving the agent business to become a gm

Entering into the free agent market as a general manager for the first time in July 2008, Gillis made immediate changes. He chose not to re-sign former client and longtime Canucks captain Markus Naslund, nor forward Brendan Morrison.

thats where i got the he might be quitting from ... he then backtracked and said ... it might not be my decision ... that he expects every aspect of the organization to be evaluated, him included

Well, those were the right decisions I would think

I like how Gillis defended Eddie Lack though ... going back to Marty Birons comments that he is not a number 1 goalie ... that he hasnt earned it and he didnt think Eddie would ever be a #1 goalie

I mean Marty Biron would know what a mediocre career backup looks like but I think he's all wrong on this

Well I definitely think somebody is going to be gone at seasons end because if there's a philosophy difference where Gillis wants to get back to an up-tempo style of play, I think he might be gone and they'll give Torts one more chance - it would be hard to swallow Torts' money on the buyout, but if a new owner comes in, maybe they won't be as reluctant to get rid of Torts and eat the money, and maybe they'll give Gillis another chance

But in a perfect world, they'd both be gone

if you fire Gillis and keep Torts (because Torts is Aquilinis choice) and bring in a new GM ... doesnt a new GM usually want to hire his own coach ?????

I just wasnt sure what he was referring to but those would have been 2 of the boldest to walk away from after their tenure here. Those are pretty massive decisions (moreso Naslund, for him being Captain, a friend and ex client)
