He has no proof of that but him saying HE believes that race played a factor. There is no proof otherwise. The more I learn of Anson the more I dislike his personality

The crazy thing is his departure from the Canucks likely paved the way for Bellows to have his success with the Sedins.

/Damn you Anson :D

His proof is what he experienced. :noidea: i have no doubt he has experienced racism throughout his hockey career.

Do the more overt experiences of racism he had prior to the point in time when he was a free agent looking for a contract colour (no pun intended) his opinion on the way it shook down with the canucks? I mean does he think at that point its not a simple hockey decision made by the team because hes looking for the racism  I’ll listen to what he has to say about his experience and i hope he wouldnt think , as a complete outsider looking at it, that Im a racist because the evidence doesnt seem imo to point that direction.

When it may have happened so many times to him in the past i can understand him perceiving the team not wanting to give him more money and term as just another thing to pin racism on :noidea:

Saying all that, i cant remember how i felt exactly about bringing /not bringing anson back that offseason. iirc i wanted the team to bring him back since he appeared to be the perfect triplet that they had been looking for forever. However, I can recall the general consensus was the sedins made him get those big numbers ... lol 33 goals and 22 assists was way too ironic

He managed to parlay that 1 season with the twins into a pretty good payday so Im not sure why hes upset. I think he ended up getting above market value considering he only scored 11 goals in the next 2 (and final) seasons of his nhl career :noidea:

obviously the grudge against the canucks is still there. Remember when he went off on blake price on twitter when he asked him to reflect on his time with the sedins (happened in their final season) ? Anyways hopefully the guy finds some peace. Thinking about all that, this type of perception he had ... the weight he felt ... could have really effected him mentally and prohibited him from being the best player he could be.

Yeah, I have no doubt he experienced racism in Canada and the States - And then there's Russia...

Bananas were thrown by spectators at a Worldstars exhibition game yesterday while forward Anson Carter was on the ice.

Twice during the 5-4 win by the touring team of locked-out National Hockey League players over a Russian all-star squad, game officials had to retrieve a banana or a banana peel from the ice.

"It's no big deal," said Carter, who is black. "I'm not surprised -- look around."

The incidents at the almost-full 10,000-seat arena occurred on a day when the English-language St. Petersburg Times had a front-page story about attacks on ethnic minorities in the city. Such racial taunts have plagued European soccer in recent months.

Carter shrugs off racial taunt

He's pretty quick to pull the race card, that's for sure. didn't give me the money i wanted? *that's racist gif*
hard to call yourself a legit 33 goal scorer when the prior year you got 15 over three different teams.
seems a "show me" contract would be appropriate no matter who he was.
Are they to believe at 32 years old he had finally found his groove?
21 of his 33 goals were assisted by BOTH Sedins. that's pretty amazing when you think of it.
and yes, he did get a payday out of it. went from $1mill with Canucks to $2.5 mill with Columbus.
which (big surprise) was a huge mistake.

Consider his $700,000 replacement the next year.
Taylor Pyatt with 23 goals. and 5 years younger.
side note, his production plunged when he moved off of the twins line too.

Moj needs to direct some off that anger towards Randy Ambrosie, the commish has been missing in action during COVID-19 and needs to stop twiddling his thumbs.

What's the inside story on this interview that they would pull it?

i think the team doesnt want him on 1040 because dhaliwal had that story recently on culls bad relationship with petrus palmu and how the team has pretty much lost the prospect over it :noidea:
