Can't say I disagree with the firing at all. The Schneider trade started it all. Acuquiring just the 9th overall pick and not a roster player as the center-piece, I wasn't a fan of it at all. Think there was better names out there than Bo Horvat at 9th overall for them to take. No idea how good he will be honestly.

The Luongo deal was another one that baffled me. I don't think Lack is the answer in net, I have no idea what their plans are with Markstrom, if they see him as the starting goalie with Lack as the backup or vice-versa. They would have gotten a high price from the Maple Leafs last season when Luo was rumored to be on the block. Not moving Kesler can be seen as a potential mistake, but we'll see if it comes into a play again during the draft.

I get that some of the players were buying into Torts' system, including your 2 best players, Henrik and Daniel. I don't think Tortorella should get a lot of the blame, but definitely some of it. Just the last few years, I wasn't a fan of the moves Gillis' was making. And then while I was doing some research I came across this interesting stat, if it's true or false, I haven't looked completely into it.

the Vancouver Canucks have one draft pick from rounds 2-7 on their roster going back to 2004. Only player(Frank Corrado) taken from rounds 2 through 7 is on their roster over the last TEN YEARS. Gillis was hired in April of 2008. He's responsible for six of those ten years of getting, in essence, nothing out of the draft every year.

I wonder if they'd want a GM and a President or they would let one guy do both - maybe the fact that Gillis was over his head might put them in a spot where they want one of each - but maybe Mark Messier could do both?

Feaster: "It's a condiment that I'm being considered for the position."

Feaster: "If I get the position, I will promise not to hot dog it"
