There's gotta be a barn in Ladner that's available for rent for these two to hash things out.

stanchion:

But again, that’s fine. If Kesler’s popularity in the room was a story, then if you feel Eddie’s popularity in the room is an angle, go for it.

The thing I don’t get is how you make the leap from “Eddie is wired differently, he used social media a lot” to “How much can you trust Eddie on the ice, REALLY.”

That’s, for a lack of a better term, odd as shit.

Social media is definitely a younger players game. You’ll probably see more and more of the young guys using it, while the older veterans shake their head and “tsk tsk” a lot.

That might be one of the issues of the “disconnect” between Eddie and an older team.

But there is a difference between thinking “Why is that dude tweeting all the time” and thinking “Man, if this goes to game six I hope Eddie didn’t tweet much during the week because that is going to effect him.”

That does a disservice to Eddie Lack the player, someone who works as hard as anyone on the ice, and off it. Ask Botch and he’ll tell you the stories of the “first one on, last one off” practices of Eddie Lack.

For years people laughed about “goalies being different” from everyone else on the team, except it was usually to explain away why the goalie was in the corner, refusing to talk to anybody before the game.

Now you have Eddie getting into trouble for talking TOO much before the game?

How does this system work? It feels oddly close to “the code”, an ever changing rulebook of guidelines and accepted practices.

Then to follow up the “Eddie is wired differently” to suggest you couldn’t trust Eddie to lead a team?

A) What is he leading, he should just be playing in net. Canucks tried a goalie captain once, it was not a success.

B) Even if players don’t want to invite Eddie to a family BBQ, why would that matter on the ice?

Is Chris Tanev going to see a shot coming from the point then decide to not block it because he thinks Eddie made too many jokes on Twitter that week?

I don’t get it.

There is no proof that Eddie’s personality led to any on ice issues, yet now a bunch of people are wondering if his team mates actually liked him or not.

Which paper is the tabloid again?

I don't remember Bobby Lou getting this much grief over his use of social media :noidea:

calling a spade a spade ... imacs article was basically written by jim benning ... the post departure character assassination is reminiscient of what happened to Seguin

Etem to the Canucks speculation - he should be enough to seal 3rd in the Pacific or accomplish tankouver.

Jim Nill (another former Medicine Hat Tiger) has inked an extension with the Dallas Stars.

Rumor is Vancouver may be interested in Etem, any truth to that or what the 'Nucks could give to the Rangers in return for him?

He'll be traded soon. This experiment hasn't worked. I miss Hagelin :( I know he got moved for cap issues, but he just fit so well here.

Also, if Jake Virtanen is Jannik Hansen, then Emerson Etem is Mason Raymond.

That was a quality winner on Tell Me I'm Wrong - Jim Benning asking Willie D for his opinion on Emerson Etem is like asking the Cookie Monster for his opinion on Oreos (lol)
