In the cesspool today, it was mentioned how canucks werent happy with the weight jake put on in second half of last season

That's a very fucking specific beef to have with a kid you burned a year of ELC on.

This will probably change quickly, but I'm actually starting to feel for you Nuck fans. That entire regime is starting to remind me of Toronto circa 2010'ish.

my post wasnt clear ... the beef about his weight gain (heh heh) wasnt with jake ... canucks werent happy with the calgary hitmen for letting him gain the weight (ie no nutritional program ... alledgedly) and thats why they are leery about sending him back to calgary now

I forget which "expert" made the comment in the cesspool but they had said the hitmen were making one two many rest stops on late season road trips to McDonalds lol

I also think there was considerable pressure on Benning et al to pick a local product after the previous regime passed on local guys such as Milan Lucic and Brendan Gallagher. It's still pretty early to draw a conclusion on Virtanen one way or the other.

FWIW, Central Scouting had Virtanen ranked 6th (NA skaters). Craig Button had him ranked quite a bit lower.

I can remember at the draft their were voices that said Jake was going to be Raffi Torres 2.0 only slightly less dirty but probably just as dumb hoceky sense wise lol

Nylander will probably be the guy we regret ... Thomas Gradin tried to go to bat for him but Benning didnt want to listen to who has historically been the canucks best scout

Last 15 games the Ducks are first in NHL at 58% possession. They should be okay. Canucks are last at 43%.
