Their defense is very consistent.
8th in red zone opportunities per game and 24th in red zone offense. 27th in passing touchdowns per game.I can't figure out the Colts. They are really up and down from week to week
I think Rivers will either make or break this team's chances. They have all the pieces to contend but the consistency isn't there at the most important position. I honestly expected Rivers to be much better this year with Frank Reich. At least steady and able to make enough plays in the passing game to compliment everything else they have. He has gone to total bonehead at times though. As far as the defense, good yes but we will never see another great, dominating defense again that can carry a team to a championship.8th in red zone opportunities per game and 24th in red zone offense. 27th in passing touchdowns per game.
Philip Rivers is doing just enough to keep this team alive but we're talking about an AFC where:
Mahomes has 25 TDs and 1 Int in 9 games
Big Ben has 18 TDs and 4 Ints in 8 games.
Rivers is pulling 11 Tds and 7 Ints in 9 games. Rivers needs to make more plays. Otherwise Colts need to have one of those historic defenses to get to the Super Bowl.
Disagree. Things always go in cycles. Rookie QB contracts are still really attractive when it comes to building a championship defense and we're still seeing defensive players that can completely change the culture of a defense. As far as the defense, good yes but we will never see another great, dominating defense again that can carry a team to a championship.
Yea but with the way the game is structured and the rule changes and such, the defenses are too disadvantaged, imo. We will never see another 2000 Ravens or 85/86 Bears again. I'm not saying we won't see very good defenses. We just saw one 2 years ago with the Bears. But I really don't think those defenses can get a team a championship without a complimentary offense.Disagree. Things always go in cycles. You could argue that those Ravens teams and Bears team did have a complimentary offense during those runsYea but with the way the game is structured and the rule changes and such, the defenses are too disadvantaged, imo. bears were 2nd in points(that payton guy was pretty good) and ravens were 14thYou could argue that those Ravens teams and Bears team did have a complimentary offense during those runs
it is all dependant on their weak link. The QB position.I can't figure out the Colts. They are really up and down from week to week
