Thanks man. Yeah, I felt the same way about this year, especially after the Texas debacle. I think I had 35 on the Huskers in the Bowl Pick'Ems as well.

I think very highly of the Hokies after those games as well.

I started to think highly of VT when Mike Gentry then {Assistant AD for Athletic Performance} came to our facilities in 95 or 96 and took back our training program to Blacksburg. Since then, VT has been on a different level.

Great post Big Red. On top of that, the 1996 Orange Bowl against you guys showed Beamer and company the type of depth it takes to compete at that level, another big part of our building block. I know Beamer still mentions that and marks that game in particular for that reason.

And BTW, I liked the 1995 Sugar Bowl much better, a 28-10 victory over Texas.

I have much respect for VT....... ever since my visit to sidelines before the games...... then my experience before and after each game.... not to mention I liked VT before the games just cuz of "beamer ball".......




Lets just say..... that VT is my second team....... although they are a long long distant second to the huskers.......

+1. I think the reason we Huskers like them is that we can relate to the brand of football they bring.

We're going to outwork you on special teams, we're going to have a tough defense, and god willing we're going to run the football right at you.

VT's program is VERY similar to Nebraska's all the way down to the fanbase..

Wow guys. Thanks for the kind comments. I truly did find your fans to be the best I've ever met from an opposing fanbase - bar none. Wish I could have made the trip to Lincoln. I was lucky enough to have quite a good, ahem, seat to the game last year in Bburg. Going to post a few pics, but unfortunately as attachments. Hope you enjoy. And I feel the same, that our programs are similar, save for we have no national titles, but maybe one day.
