This argument comes after every World Cup, that soccer is going to have a big boom in the US. Never happens.
Can anyone really see the MLS filling the Big House in Ann Arbor Michigan with 105,500 people? Nope.
MLS can take the NHL over in popularity, once their revenues are commensurate with the top European leagues and their product isn't 10th-rate. Of course, that won't happen in our lifetimes.
Laugh all you guys want...but it's already happening in middle and high school. It's not because we like soccer better....it's because of the cost of equipment and liability.
Unfortunately....American Football and Canadian Hockey are being threatened. Liberal media is pushing us that direction.
Not 2 years but eventually. I would say within 20 years. As of now the league minimum in the NHL is still significantly more than the overwhelming majority of MLS players make. Let's see how financially viable the league can be once it starts handing out multi million dollar contracts.
...liberal media? If you're discussing injury incidence I won't call that the media forcing parents to re-think the sport their kid participates in. Soccer has a high injury incidence, although less threatening injuries generally.
Espn has a broadcast rights package with mls and not with the nhl
This is where the cowherd trolling is coming from
