Its all about the right team....and Coffman fits the Falcons more than he did here....He just was too light in the ass....now in year 5 he may have toughened up....I like the kid and hope he sticks...

TE Coffman Continues Strong Camp

Too much talent to not be used..... Yeah he couldnt block worth shit but he can run routes and catch and plenty of TE's play like he does... He had 1 hell of a catch in the NFC Championship game or the game against Seattle.....Good luck to him

I disagree. If he had talent to catch and make plays like the other 'pass-catching' tight ends, he'd have already caught on by now. I think he is an extremely limited player that happened to be quite an accomplished college player. Plenty of kids have the skill set for college, but that doesn't always transfer to the pro game.

People mature and grow at different speeds.... Lets see what he does this year... I think he can play in this league in the right situation....

It does make you wonder what he might have been able to do if they were lining him up like they are Eiffert all over the field, and not as worried about whether he can block or not.

Still amazes me how teams draft players and then make them do things that are against their strengths. Not saying you don't work on those things, but if you draft a TE to catch passes, then put him in position to catch passes. Work on blocking as he develops

I'll be the first to admit he came into a bad situation. The way our offense was designed back then, he wasn't going to get much of a shot. We simply ignored the tight end.

That said, I thought he seemed unathletic on the field. To my (admittedly untrained) eye he looked slow and stiff. Maybe this was because he was immature and didn't know the offense and therefore he can grow into it..... Or maybe it was because he was athletically limited. If its the latter, he'll never be more than a situational back-up.
