I am not rich by any means, but I whole heartedly believe in you get what you work for. Your decisions in life play a role in where you are financially and your overall happiness past, present and future. Why should someone who works hard be charged more than "Joe Schmoe"? Makes me sick. I hate "Robin Hood" policies.

edit: this was also like 3.5 hours after I fell asleep.

I used to be like-minded, but a lot of that money is obtained unethically and/or at the expense of the poorer man. I don't want to tax them so much that they end up with the same annual earnings as poorer folks, but I think they should tax them at a higher rate.

I'm also in favor of high taxes on alcohol, tobacco products, and, if it's legalized, marijuana. Pennsylvania has an 18% hidden tax on all alcohol. It generates $200 million per year, and nobody even notices because distributors just factor the tax into the cost they display. Now folks want to get rid of it, but as far as I'm concerned, alcohol is still plenty affordable even with that 18% tax, and that revenue would be really hard to replace.
